Since the makcik did not want me to attend to the cafe on Saturdays fearing that I will get "gabra" when there were too many customers, so she decides to "cut down" on my salary and ask me to attent to the cafe on Sundays instead. She has did that since 6 December, last year.
I dun mind, at first. But after doing some calculations on my expenses, I know its still aint enuff and I have to do something. Its either I resigned and look for other weekend job or I ask makcik to let me work on both Saturday and Sunday. Another alternative is to search anywhere / anyplace that requires a part timer but I can only commit on Saturdays.
Yes, there is! :) Thanks to Kak OLIN for recommending me for the Saturday job. She has a friend who co-owns the shop which sells belly dancing stuffs.. She needs a helper and Kak OLIN recommend me. Gee, thanks kak.. I owe u one.
Every Saturday, from 10 am to 7pm, I have to go all the way to Arab Street (my full time job is at Beach Road, next to Arab Street!) and be a salesgirl there. Payment wise is more than what makcik offers me for Sunday. For both days, I got my pay daily, as requested by me.. Else, its fortnightly.. but nah.. I prefer on the spot payment!
FYI, at the same time I am also helping out the co-owner of the shop by "marketing" her. Since she got to know that I have Business Admin Marketing degree from Kak OLIN, and Kak OLIN told her that my full time job now is not related to my degree, she suggests that while attending to the shop on Saturdays, on other days whenever I am at home, I try to "source her out". U see, the co-owner is a belly dancing teacher and she often travel around to go for belly dancing workshops or to teach belly dancing so she wants belly dancing to be known so she gets me to help her to "market" her. Once she clinches the deal, I will get 10%-15% from her. Hmm... Not bad ehk? A good start for me. At least I have background on marketing.
In fact, my part time job somehow or rather are related to my nature of degree. On Sundays, I have to attend to the cafe and of course there are customers. There is a topic for my degree: Marketing of Services. Also for being a salesgirl on Saturday, is also from the same topic: Marketing of Services. However, the co-owner who has given me the opportunity to be her "marketing assistance", the nature of job is related to the topic from my degree: Marketing, Marketing Management. So I guess, the 2 part time jobs give me a great start for a marketing job experience. =)
Anyway, on 14 February, I have start my first day at Arab Street shop and I only did some packing, since the co-owner was not there. Yesterday, was my actual "sales" work day. I was still alone as usual as the full timers as well as the boss needs to go for a workshop. So there I was in the shop alone attending to customers' queries and I have to keep calling the the co-owner, who is also the boss to ask about the pricing as some of the items do not have a price tag on it.
And wow! I did make quite alot of sales! Yesterday, sales was at $1150!! The boss told me that I broke the record! She has never encountered over $1K in sales. The most was $900 ++!
Err, pay? Heehe.. Unlike the Sunday job, which makcik offered $35 (but minus $3 coz I dun entitled to free meals.. :( If I want to eat, $3 will be deducted.. so now its $32, work in a cafe of course have food!) Saturday I was paid $45.. Sshhh... So, Saturday and Sunday = $77. Monthly rate = 4 x $77 = $308. My monthly full time salary (after deducting CPF) = $1380.50. Total "7 days salary" = $1380.50 + $308 = $1688.50. My montly salary from ECSF is $1730. Ok lah, not so bad la.. heehe... although the part time job did not cover the "cpf reduction" I guess still enuff la.. Dun be greedy... Islam taught us not to be greedy... :)

All these while, I thought ALLAH has answered my prayers because my grandma keeps quiet and never ask about him again.
I guess I was wrong and ALLAH is testing me. My grandma still can't accept him. She can't accept him coz she said he is way younger than me. She does not mind if he's 1 or 2 years younger than me but he is 3 years and so, she can't accept him!
She even want me to severe ties with his sister, my best friend! I know why. Their dad is blind. So, she is afraid that I may be burdened by him coz she still thinks that my best friend is staying overseas forever for good and not come back! My granny thinks by doing so, she is running away from her responsibility and "push" the responsibility to me thats why she disapproves him. She is afraid that if its fated for me and him together then I'll have to be responsible to tend for the blind dad. C'mon la! My best friend will be in Poland for a few more months before moving on to another country for the same job. And she wont be staying permanently there! Of coz she will come back! Duhz..
I am now having the usual montly menstruation - I can't pray. After my menstruation, I will keep praying to ALLAH and seek His Guidance for He is ALMIGHTY. Amin.
