I have collected my certificate from the school. Ahh.. When I read my name on that piece of paper, I have this confidence that I will have a brigh future. I am doing soul searching as whether I will have a future with ECSF. I may not know yet for I have just been working in ECSF for barely a year; almost 9 mths. Let me remind u that I do not like to job hop. The least I can stay is a year and a half. The most will be permanently forever till I got long service award la.. Nyahahaha..
What I have been thinking these days is to further my studies.. (duhz!). Nope. Its not going to be Masters.. I have been working in an I.P industry since March 2006 and I am beginning to enjoy it. There are indeed many things to learn and many inventions coming up. Since my degree is a Business related degree which is not related to I.P, yes I know it will be a waste not to use it so I have a an idea up here in my mind.
I am intending to take up: CERTIFICATE IN INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY LAW offerred by IP ACADEMY with cohaboration with INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY OFFICE OF SINGAPORE (IPOS). *smiles* Can?
I did make a research. It is only available from August to September every year and the course is a full day course, i.e I have to apply for annual leave to go for the course. In addition, to register for the course, u must have a degree in any field and working in an I.P industry for at least 6 mths. Hmm.. I have 1 year and 9 mths of Trademarks knowledge while in Donaldson & Burkinshaw and almost 9 mths of Patents background in ECSF. So I am qualified! Whee!
However, the cost fee.. well its $2600! *slaps forehead* $1000 more than my salary! The examination fee (which consists of ONLY MCQ) is $25. So total is $2625. If only I have a salary like that! Hahaha..
Hmm.. who knows.. with my degree and this I.P Certificate, I may get a better job, better offer, better salary and better plus brighter future? True?
I have to reconsider abt this again. U know, family issues. My grandmother wants me to STOP STUDYING.. coz she thinks with my degree I can good job. What she didnt know is.. these days, all companies wants EXPERIENCE and NOT degree...
I have to reconsider this fast as I have abt 1 yr to decide whether I want to register for this. Yeah. If I am confirmed taking the certificate in I.P course, I'll have to start next year. *eyes rolling - time to save $$ again!*

Actually, I didnt want to go for the above. Because it has been my usual weekend routine - go gym, go home... Heehe.. But because of a particular local artiste who will be performing there, rite after my gym workout, I headed down to The Cathay. I know I looked kinda funny in this photo. I came straight from the gym la.. But its okay.. the next time will be better.. *winks*
When I reached The Cathay, I saw a familiar face. SMA, my colleague. She was with Nurul, who is our ex-colleague. SMA and Nurul (I dun knw what was her initials) still keeping in contact. They were there just to window shop around.. Heehe...
We sat some where and chit chat while waiting for the performances of that particular artiste. SMA and Nurul were chit chatting. I was just listening to their chats. The 2 of them knew each other longer than I do. I was actually concentrating my eyes around The Cathay in case I spotted that particular artiste. To be precise that particular artiste is not a soloist but a group.
I spotted them. They didnt spot me. A family member recognized me and signalled to my fav member who turned and noticed me and smiled. He alerted his band mate and the band mate looked at me and smiled and waved. Heehe..
This was been witnessed by SMA and Nurul. Both of them were, "Oh so si Maria ni peminat (name will be stated later). Patutlah.. ingatkan they lambai kat siapa. Then turn tgk U pun tgh lambai-lambai.. oh..." Heehee.. Well, ladies.. tau tak per.. They busybody want to know which particular member of the group I like. Haha.. Its not like.. Its call, "FAVOURITE." *grin*
Then the mum of my fav member approached me and talked to me followed by the son! Just talking and talking and will catch up with them later - during their performance. SMA and Nurul saw me talking to the mom and probed, "perempuan tu siapa? manager eh?" I answered, "tak ah. Mak dia.." Nurul and SMA looked at each other then looked at me and asked, "Mak siapa?" I smiled and very confidently answered to them, "My fav member nyer mak ah.."
Both of them got excited and 'usik' me. SMA, "Wah.. kencang ah Maria.. dah kenal dgn bakal mak mertua.." I wanted to laugh.. Hahha... Well, pple.. FYI... Hady's mum is my bakal mak mertua ok... *dream on lah! LoL*
Nurul and SMA got to go. Like I mentioned, they were there just to window shop not for Parti Sutra so I was back alone.. Heehe... Its okay.. already used to coming alone then will eventually meet up with familiar faces...
After their performance, I believe we can have a photo taken with them.. Nyahahaha... So I did and not only that.. I minta izin dari the mother if I can take a solo photo with her son. Heehe.. Hormat lah sikit.. LoL.. Yes, she allowed and she snapped that photo. *big smile*
So who is this particular artiste I am ranting abt? Remember I did write in this blog before. "If there is a next time, I wanna stand in between Naza and Ross." There u go.. Heehe... Scroll down a bit more..
REVALINA!!! I love their Ceritaku.. The song is currently playing in my blog now.. heehe.. Enjoy listening to it.. U will Love it..

Since August, about 5 to 6 ECSF staffs has left.. They're pretty smart... They left AFTER the Chiang Mai Incentive trip.. LoL..
Sighz.. Alot of my other colleagues discussing with themselves: "Bila kita nyer turn nak resign / last day.." I was like... 'huh'? Yes, I know. Alot of work with no OT pay. But they are incentives and benefits: company trips.. free lunches.. bonuses, yearly increments plus promotion increments (to certain staff who management thinks they deserve a promotion). So I was wondering why these pple want to leave?
Yeah. I know.. When there's a better offer anywhere, pple will sure go. So do I. After I collected my certificate (sometime next week), I will show to the management AFTER my graduation cum convocation ceremony (which is in November). I'll see how from there. If they cant promote me BUT they willing to increase my salary, fine I'll stay. If they cant do both.. sighz.. yeah I have to leave BUT I dun like to stay in a job for less than 2 yrs.. thats job hopping! I stayed for 1 yr and 9 mths in Donaldson. I hope and always prayed that I can stay longer in ECSF.
And here's what I found out. Junior secretary, secretary and Senior Secretary.. I thought they're the same. In ECSF.. its NOT the SAME. They're different. Different in terms of level and salary. I have a colleague who was a Secretary at first during her probation and after her probation, the management decides that she cant perform well, they DEMOTE her to a junior secretary and yes HER SALARY is AFFECTED!
I was bewildered! I thought junior secretary and secretary are of the same pay. Hell no.. The difference is not $50 or $100. More than that! Woah.. I am a junior secretary with the salary of S$1650. So if a secretarial post, the pay will be $100++ more than my salary la! Hmm.. I roughly know how much Administrative Officers and Supervisors are being paid la.. Heehe..
FYI, in ECSF senang nak naik pangkat.. U just need tolerance, patience and endurance. Plus, working hard is also the most impt key that leads to promotion. On the contrary, some of the staff resort to do "dirty work" (backstabbing la) to get promoted. I am not going to comment further. K, I would like to welcome my junior from sec sch, HBH to ECSF! She's in Renewals Dept.. No wonder la name and home number very familiar.. Note: I didnt know her home number. The home number starts with 677 - CLEMENTI la.. Duhz..
To MAM, my ex-colleague from Donaldson: AKHIRNYA... ITS FINALLY UR TURN TO GET UR ASS OUT FROM THERE.. Heehe... All the best to u and hope u achieve ur dreams.. *thumbs up*

For Day 3 is FREE and EASY. Means, we do not need to visit this place or that place accompanied by our tour guides; we can do whatever we want.. just approach our Thai tour guides and they will bring us there..
On Day 3, only 24 of us decided to go to Maesa Elephant Camp to ride on the elephant!!! While the rest of the 64 staffs (how boring they could be!) decided to catch up with their sleep after having their breakfast and at 12pm, proceeded to a shopping mall for shopping!!!! Duhz..
For the 14 (13 laadies + 1 man) of us, we headed on to Maesa Elephant camp to have a ride on the elephant. Actually 14 ride on the elephant when another 10 of us decided to watch the elephant show. Hehee... the 14 of us after watching the elephant show... hopped on to the elephant for the ride...
Huh? Shopping? Yes we still manage to shop rite after the elephant ride but only for 2 hrs.. so? I want to ride on that animal and I will ok! Heehee... However, ECSF didnt pay for us.. We have to pay for the ride ourselves.. Its okay.. no worries... cheap things, we pay.. expensive things.. hehe company la pay... Waahahaha...
