Hmm, I believe Hady is going to do something abt that song. Maybe he put that song to his new album but change da wordings of "Happy Birthday" to something else? *thinking*
Today marks da end of March and tomorrow starts a brand new day, a Sunday on a brand new month.. and tomorrow is APRIL FOOL'S DAY!! Make sure u dun get fooled.. LoL
Yestday met Mr Ho, my business law lecturer. Well, I met him last week at Sheraton Towers. Yup, he was there but not for my company's D & D but for this SAA - Singapore Accountancy Association D & D. My company's D & D was held in ballroom 1 & 2 level 3, SAA's was in ballroom 3 & 4 level 3..
I didnt get da chance to speak to him or say hi to him last week but since I met him yestday while I was outside da sch library, I told him. He was surprised that I am now working in a law firm. He said that it is a gd choice to work in a law firm especially dealing with all da trade marks. Well, he is a lawyer, of course he said gd things.. He wished me all da best and he left.
Aft meeting another of my lecturer Sally for discussion, I went home. While waiting for da bus, I met another sch friend of mine who is close to me, since Sec 1 even though we had bickerings quite often. She was so happy to meet me. We chit chat and exchange numbers. I only have her home number not her hp number.
She is now working in Courts warehouse at Tampines!! Oh dear! From West Coast travel all da way to Tampines!! If da $$ is good, shldnt be a problem. She is earning abt da same amt as me but she prefers a comfortable job like mine - office work - while hers is logistics.
We went home together coz we're staying just a few blocks away. This was what she said to me, "Among all my close friends, from Pri to ITE, u are da only one who study till degree." I looked at her. I was kinda flattered. To me, it was nothing coz I have close friends too from Pri to Diploma who are degree graduates and/or studying for degree.
Remember in da previous entry (29 March), I blog abt being "caught" by an insurance adviser from Prudential abt some investment planning and I also said that I dun wish to be insure under Prudential? Further to that, I 'almost' signed up.. yeah.. here's how..
I was walking in a hurry to da mrt station coz I will be meeting Faridah at around 7.15pm at VivoCity for dinner. A guy who holds a B.Sc Banking in Finance (he gave me his namecard aft all da wasteless - gonna write abt it - effort/presentation) approach me abt a survey. I thought nothing of it but then he mentioned something abt Savings Plan - they had this savings plan, I know at once it is Prudential. Usually, I will say, "Sorry, not interested." But when I said that, he talked abt investment. Although I do plan to take up investment plan but I have no idea what is it all abt actually, so I wanna find out more, hence I agreed to sit down and let him do da presentation.
Usually, aft doing much presentation, no obligations of course, so I can say "I'll consider or not interested.." I did say that and he probed, "May I know whats da thing u need to consider?" I told him, "I need to discuss with my mum." He again went on blabbering saying that majority pple of my mum's age wont understand with all this investment (HELLO!! My mum has an investment plan with ManuLife!!). He went on blabbering further that this investment will britghten up my future, no worries abt financials stuff blah blah..
I was already very tired. In my mind was, 'get this over and done with'.I think he was kinda desperate for a customer/client on that day so he signed me up without warning!! I was huh? Still I agreed and fill up da form and sign all da pages. *stupid of me*
Wait, da application is not done without approval from da bank. He would like to meet me da next day during lunch time to go to POSB for some transactions.. And u know what? This is what I said to him, I mean I called him coz I have his number on his namecard given to me.
Me: Hello, is that xxxx?
XXXX: Yes
Me: Remember me? Da lady whom u spoke to earlier in da evening?
XXXX: Yes, I remember. Da lady who share da same birthday as my mum (Oh.. ok such coincidence!)
Me: Just to inform u that I had express this to my mum and I'm glad that she understands. But da thing is, she wants me to invest with my uncle, who is in NTUC income, instead coz its a u know, a family thing.
XXXX: I understand. U are in a difficult position (he really thinks that I really wanna invest with his company!) but u have to think wisely. Is ur uncle's company's fund doing as well as us? If it is, I can let u go and invest with ur uncle coz its gd to support ur uncle blah blah blah..I also have friends whose family members worked for other insurance companies but when it comes to investing, they invest with my company because our funds are doing very well blah blah blah.

I did but I sms him, da next day.
Me: Hi XXXX, I know its my future and I am old enuff to decide for myself but now I have decided NOT to take up any investment plan as yet becoz I just started working 1 year ago and not yet financially stable. Once I am stable with my finances, Ill decide on where to out my $$ to. Sorry but I hope u understand. Thanks and sorry.

XXXX: I respect ur decision. U're still young so u shld plan ahead abt ur $$ beside u're using CPF not ur own $$. In any case, u change ur mind by noon, give me a call and we headed down to POSB.
Did I call him by 12 pm? NOPE! Lol...
Why didnt I want to invest with Prudential? Well, I have no idea too. I had been approached by Prudential advisers for a few times already and da first time was when she saw a form, another adviser gave to me (that was 3 or 4 yrs ago - I was still studying full time) without any signature of mine, she panicked and asked me to call da fellow to cancel it. I was appalled and directly told her that she was da one who wants me to sign up for insurance in da mere future.
She admitted that she did tell me that but she had neva heard of Prudential b4 so was kinda unfamiliar with their successes. Till now, she still say no when comes to invest or insure with Prudential. So, even if I decide to invest with Prudential, if she were to find out, she will blow her top! I know it sounded kinda weird but its true.
Da only way for her to think positively abt Prudential is to find someone she knows or I know and promote to her what Prudential actually benefits us.. Maybe that will work.

26 March was on Monday. Same usual routine.. Went to work on a Monday blue. Guess what? It was a livelier Monday than before. That's because of each and every one of da staffs (those who went for D & D on Sat, 24 March) kept discussing abt D & D. Some even laugh coz it was so damn funny. They could not forget.. Every 1 hr they kept talking abt it..
Well, I missed out on one "humiliating" moment at da D & D.. Here it goes..
Remember, da part I rant abt a commercial game? Da showhost gave us a slogan and we have to go to da stage to ans it? Well, there was a different way of answering for one particular commercial.
Da showhost said out, "I want a gentleman with spectacles to come out to ans this one." I didnt hear da word gentleman.. All I heard was spectacles. So I ran to da stage and MK (who sat in front of da stage - well, his table was near to da center of da stage) shouted, "No, sit down!! Go back! Sit down!" I was kinda appalled by his reaction. I was like, "We're in da same team, y did he ask me to go back and sit down?"
Nevertheless, I was still on da stage and da showhost said, "Is this a man?" All of them went, "Woman.." Da showhost exclaimed, "I dun know.. She ran from there to here, I thought was a man." All gave a huge laughter. I also laughed. Then da showhost said to me, "I want man la.." Feeling so embarassed, I stepped down from da stage.
Seconds later, PN's youngest son went up to da stage. Everyone clapped. Da showhost announced, "U are da man I am looking for. K now da slogan, 'I'm loving it'. Everyone knows it is McDonalds. Why u come up here is to spell out for me, McDonalds BUT not with ur mouth but with ur body movements."
When I heard that, Uncle Sabri's wife said to me, "No wonder they want man.. Lucky u didnt go up to da stage." Phew..
So PN's son had his butt facing us to spell out McDonald. Yes, he had to move his butt to 'draw out' da letters of McDonald.. No wonder man are wanted! Hahaha..
So that was da topic of discussion on Monday!! Oh boy was I embarassed? Well, nah.. I enjoyed it. Da more they talk abt it, da more I laughed!!
27 March was a Tuesday. Aft work, me, B and J went to Cineleisure Orchard to watch TMNT movie. TMNT stands for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.. I love da turtles..ever since I was young. Yup, I watched cartoons like X-Men, TMNT, Transformer, Fantastic Four, Garfield and Looney Tunes. So if any of da cartoons become movies, definitely I watch. Heehe.
Da movie was great!! I give it 4 out of 5 stars!! I thought Raphael was da leader!! To think its actually Leonardo! My fav turtle is Raphael!! Although I do agree that Mikey (Michaelanjelo) is da funniest of all!
28 March - Wedenesday
A dinner with my best friend, Faridah. Well, I thought I had to wait for her but it ended up that she has to wait for me coz I was being "caught" by this Financial Adviser from Prudential. Let's see, I have been approached by Prudential Insurers for abt 4 times already.. Pls.. I beg u.. I am not interested to insure with Prudential.. Dun ask me why.
So instead of meeting at 7.15pm, da meeting time was delayed till 8.00pm all thanks to da 'survey' and 'talks'. We had our dinner at Banquet VivoCity. Then we walked around VivoCity and had a chit chat. Before we left, we need to release ourselves so we went to da washroom at level 2. I went in to this cubicle and guess what I found?
A SONY ERICSSON K 700I handphone!! WoW.. With keychains hanging all around it. I was actually tempted to take it. So I told Faridah, "Sumone left a handphone here. Shall I take it?" Faridah said, "Just take it, since da person is so careless." I replied, "But its a Sony Ericsson phone. I couldnt get used to da functions not as user friendly as Nokia, Motorola or Samsung." But oh well, I just take da phone and put inside my bag. Faridah hinted at me telling me that its my own choice.
Just a minute after I took da phone in my bag, 2 gals abt my siblings age, came running to da ladies. Da taller one yelled, "Which cubicle?" And da shorter one answered, "This one, oh shit!" (pointing to da cubicle I was from and another lady went in). I gestured to Faridah saying in malay that da phone might be hers coz when I was browsing thru da photos in da phone, their faces look kinda similar. Faridah too agreed saying that da phone could be da shorter gal's. I approached them and handed over da phone saying, "Is this ur phone?" Da shorter gal went, "OH YES! THANKS.." Da friend, with a smile conveyed, "Thank You! Thank You so much!" I just smiled.
Am I honest? Or stupid? Wll, da reason I asked this was, when I went back home, I related what happen to both my siblings and both of them hurled, "WHY ARE U SO STUPID! U ALREADY FOUND DA PHONE! JUST TAKE IT AND PRETEND THAT U DUN KNOW ANYTHING!" I argued with them this, "Hello, if it is a Nokia or Motorola or Samsung, I'll do that, of course I will but its a Sony Ericsson phone! I still cant get used to da bloody features on da phone! Not user friendly at all compared to those 3 brands I just mentioned!"
But still my siblings dun wish to lose in da 'debate' so they said, "Aiyah., can sell what.. U make money.. So stupid.."
Stupid?! I am honest, gundhus!!

My first ever Dinner and Dance (D & D) 
D & D was held yesterday at Sheraton Towers, 6.30pm. My mum and I reached there at 6.20pm. we thought we were da early ones but I saw EL, her husband and kid, Slyvia and Uncle Salih, one of da Land Search Clerk.
We went up to Level 2. We had to wait outside Ballroom 1 and 2. There, I saw da lawyers, GCD, MN, TCF and KMP. KMP came up to me, I introduced her to my mum. She commented, "Wow, very young." (refering da term "young" to my mother NOT me) She was with her two daughters. I understand that ELK didnt attend last nite's Dinner & Dance.
Although da Dinner & Dance was at 6.30pm, we had to get sitted by 7.30pm after we had registered. My mum being an expert in these kind of stuffs had emphasize to me many times but as u shld know, I am kinda new to this and my first time so of course, I wanna come early. Heehe.
One by one I saw staffs coming. As usual, I introduced B and J to my mum. Then PW came with her friend. One by one came until da secretary in charge of da registration arrived. Thereafter, we registered. Upon registering we received a door gift. I was 2nd in da line. 1st in line was Slyvia and her guest. I introduced her to my mum. Slyvia commented, "Maria, u're such a nice girl." (Erm, nice girl for bringing my mother?) They shook hands after da comment. After da handshake, my mum and I peeked at da door gift. Ceh! $10 Carrefour voucher!
While waiting for da ballroom door to be opened, I saw LST (da lawyer who is going to take over ELK after da latter resigned). I noticed him and he took notice of me too and he just give me a wave with a smile. I wonder why was he in a hurry for? High tide? Heehe..
By 7.30pm, we were sitted. PW was at a table next to mine. Hers was table number 5. Each table has 10 pple. B and J were at table number 2, I think, or was it number 3? I was sitted at table number 12. Da last table. Muslims tables were number 9, 10, 11 and 12. We were far away from da stage. In my table were, myself, my mum, Uncle Rahman and wife, Kak ZA, ZJ with husband and kid, and Uncle Sabri and wife (Taufik, Hady, Jonathan and da rest of da Singapore Idol finalists will know his wife coz she is a makeup artist. MediaCorp employed her to do makeup for them. She sat beside me so, hehe.. u shld know what was my conversation with her.. *wink*).
At 7.45pm, TBH da big boss came up to stage to give a speech. Usually, it took 15 mins but last nite, his speech was longer! Oh dear. Nevertheless, food was served and we were enjoying it. While all of us were having our delicious food, da showhost began his show.
12 table were divided into 2 teams. Team SINGAPORE (because da theme is Around the World) consists of Table Number 1 (half of da lawyers with 2 of them bringing their guests), Table Number 2, 3, 4, 5 and 7. Team INDIA consists of Table Number 6, table number 8 (da remaining lawyers who didnt bring guests), Table Number 9, 10, 11 and 12.
Da games began. 1st game was to recognize which country da songs that was playing was from. Whoever who wish to give da ans had to run up to da stage and sat on a chair. Whoever is da first to go up to da stage and sit on da chair, got da chance to ans and won gifts. It was offbeatly fun. I enjoyed it.
2nd game was to identify catchphrase or catchword used in a commercial. I cldnt remember most of it but I do remember this slogan: CONNECTING PEOPLE. Da ans >> NOKIA. Hence, I ran up to da stage to ans and gain points for my team. (in fact NONE of my team mates wished to go up to ans - becoz they were enjoying their food, so I grabbed da chance - heh) As I was running up to da stage, I saw KMP's daughter (sitting at table number 1, very near da stage) wanted to run up to da stage too. What did I do? Did I slow down? NO. I overtake her and in 2 secs, I was already at da stage sitting down on a chair.
Da showhost expressed, "Look (pointing at KMP's daughter), she is younger u know. U didnt even want to give chance to younger pple.." (there was laughter at da audience, I laughed too) He continued, "U know, da Americans when pple fart, they will say, ' Pardon Me', when da Europeans fart, they will say, 'Excuse Me', but Singaporeans, they will say 'Not Me.' " I cldnt catch what he meant by that. Did it have something related to me overtaking KMP's daughter? Nevertheless, da showhost asked for da ans and hooray I got myself a gift!
I went back to my table. I checked my handphone becoz my instinct told me that sumone must have given me a text message. I was right. There was one unread message. "U bully KMP's daughter. Monday u will know what happen to u. Wash da toilet after 5.30pm. ;D" That sms was from B, of coz. *smilez*
Da games segment was put on hold for a few minutes as they wanted to announce da lucky draw prizes. I had no luck in da top 10 big prizes. My name was mentioned 3rd for da bottom prizes (which is da consolation prize). I collected another Carrefour voucher worth $20. 25 (Prize number 60th to 26th) 'unlucky' staffs received $20 Carrefour voucher including B. Well, maybe I will have better luck next year. (provided if I am still working in da same company)
3rd game was called 10 secs.. Some sort of boring coz da showhost demonstrated, "This 10 secs game goes like this, if I say bring me women with arm pit hair (all laugh) in 10 secs, u try to get as many as u can. Da more u get, da more points. Understand?" And so after da demonstration, we got da game going. I didnt get up to da stage because in da first round of game number 3, I WAS NOT A MAN who has a family photo in a wallet, second round of game number 3, I DO NOT HAVE more than 3 inch high heel shoe and final round of game number 3, I do not have a family photo in my handphone.
4th game, is a Bollywood style of game. Da showhost picked one "Shah Rukh Khan" from both Singapore and India team. When da "Shah Rukh Khans" were already on da stage, they were informed by da showhost that they had to get a female partner for that game. Well, da "Shah Rukh Khan" from Singapore team picked his own wife, CEL. Da showhost moved his attention to da "Shah Rukh Khan" from India team. He elucidated (another word for 'mentioned') to Uncle Sultan, "Aisey, from far u really look like Shah Rukh Khan but when near u looked like Gengis Khan." As usual laughter was heard. So da showhost asked Uncle Sultan (who was sitted at table number 11 with Uncle Eunos and wife, Uncle Ali, Uncle Salih - land search clerk, Maideen and Nainar), "So Gengis, choose ur partner." Uncle Sultan did not know who to pick so he said to da showhost, "I dun know. U choose for me." Da showhost was shocked and he exclaimed, "I choose for u? Make my job very easy." And guess who he picked? EA!! Hmm, must be becoz on that table (EA was sitted at table number 9 with Kak SM and husband, Uncle Salleh - da peon, Uncle Yusof, EA's bf and Irwan) pointed at her and da showhost somehow happened to be standing next to their table and saw da pointing. EA got saboed ah!! Nevertheless, we on da other tables, gave our loudest applause to support her.
So da 4th game were played and da winner went to Gengis Khan team!! My team!! Team India!! Next game, 5th game was Mandarin tongue twister game. Da showhost had emphasised he wants 4 pple (2 from Singapore team and another 2 from India team) who can speak mandarin to go up on stage. EA got saboed in da earlier game. So for this game, I was saboed!! Table 11 and my table encouraged me to go up on stage. I told them, "I know little bit" but Uncle Sabri said, "It doesnt matter. Just go." And I said to him, "Uncle Sabri, u also know Mandarin, u know better than me. U go la.." Again, he said, "U very young. U better go and enjoy urself. Get exposure. Go! Go! Go!" So I went. I know why they saboed me. My mother all of a sudden went to da ladies so ta da!! Just my luck! Hehehe..
When I was on my way up to da stage, da showhost couldnt believe it. He shockingly said, "I dun believe this! 2 pple from India teams are not chinese but they come up to da stage. Give them a around of applause!" (another 1 from da India team who is not chinese but came up to da stage was Shyla's niece. Her niece took up mandarin as her 2nd language)

So da game number 5 began. I was da 1st one to step down coz I forgot da tongue twister. C'mon, it gets longer and longer, how to remember?! Nevertheless, I got myself another gift. Da runner up was Shyla's niece. Wow! Not bad! I must brush up on my mandarin. *evil grin*
Da games again came to pause for another lucky draw prize of number 25th to 11th. Da 6th game, da showhost with his assistants went down to look for 4 best dressed women and 4 best dressed men. Phew! Lucky I didnt dress at my best if not again I have to appear on da stage and perform . . . .
K, da four men had to do 3 types of dance moves.. John Travolta, Alex Toh and Ricky Martin. For da four women, their task "easier" than da men. They had to be sexy!! Yes, da showhost will play a slow seductive song and da women had to do whatever they think is sexy. Da four men were, KL's husband, Alice Yap's bf or husband?, Uncle Sabri and Mr Siew. Winner went to Alice Yap's bf/husband. Runner up >> Uncle Sabri. Da four women were, CGN, Dawn Yeo, Mr Siew's secretary and ZJ. Winner went to Dawn Yeo. ZJ was da runner up. Wow, she sure do know how to be sexy.. *winkz*
Final game, was to sing. Da showhost will play a certain song and anyone had to come up on stage to continue to sing it. So far da lawyer, MK came up to da stage and sang da song, "Oh Carol", he was in my team and won some points for da team. Da other songs kept playing and playing but none want to come up to da stage to continue with da singing as all of them were tired so no one even dared to go up on stage to sing. However, I assumed someone may have saboed these 3 lawyers >> Ida Han, GCD and MN. They sang a mandarin song. I some sort know that song and sang along with them on da table. Heehee..
Then, before we all left, da top 10 prizes were announced. Congratz to ZJ and Dawn Yeo for winning a DVD player each, SPC for winning mp3 players, J for winning a Siemens handphone with camera, Uncle Yusof for winning Sony Ericsson handphone without camera, Uncle Ali for winning $300 cash voucher, Uncle Ahmad for $ 600 cash voucher, Kak MS and Kak SD for winning $250 cash voucher each and da top winner who brought home $1000 cheque.. CONGRATZ to TSL!!!
I did have fun at my very first annual dinner and dance even though I didnt win any big prizes. Before da dinner and dance, I was hoping if I could win mp3 (I wanna a new one - old want can discard hehehe!!) or digital camera (as if!), a handphone and better still $1000 cheque but nah.. dream on!! I did not have da luck! *sad face*
Before we left, da showhost announced da winning team >> HOORAY!!! TEAM INDIA won but only one table out of six table will win a prize to be shared. And da winning table wasnt table number 12!!! Table number 10. Table 1o consists of Shyla and her niece, SU, Kak MS and son and Kak SD and daughter.
At 11pm we left Sheraton Towers. My mum and I waited for my dad to pick us up. He told us to wait at da taxi booth. I wanted to give ZJ and family a lift since they are also staying at da west but I presume they were shy so they rejected my offer. While waiting for my dad to pick us up, I saw MN walking towards us. I introduced her to my mother and MN said to my mother, "Thanks for coming." She then focussed her attention to me and shake my hand and said, "Congratulations". Yup, congratulation for bracing myself up to da stage and "make a fool of myself" hahahaha... We didnt get to chat for long as my dad had arrived.. Oh bother! Nevertheless, we waved goodbye at MN and off we went!! Home sweet home. While on da way home, I received another sms from B, "U like to go to stage so much." I just smiled when I read that. Then another sms came in, "U still tell me yesterday dun sabo u, yet u urself kept going up." So I explained to him abt da mandarin game. I was saboed by da pple at my table and other tables.
Before I end this, let's see if u are a good photographer. I scored a 77, pretty good. Not bad. So, have fun playing this game k.. Good nite..

When I grow up...
I want to be a teacher. That was wat I told my form teacher in primary 2. She asked all da pupils to stand up and say what was their ambition.
Now, I am alrdy a grown up working in a law firm. Where had my ambition gone? Nevertheless, I will NOT give up. I will keep trying to apply to be a teacher.
I will clear all my papers by January 2008, With God's will (Insya-Allah), get my transcript result in May 2008. Although da graduation will be in every November, I think we graduates can still apply for jobs with our results transcripts. So, I will apply to NIE. If get rejected, I will wait for da graduation ceremony that will be in November 2008. Aft da graduation, I will apply to NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF EDUCATION (NIE) again.
If NIE still denies my application.. I will think of a way to apply for teaching.. I really love to teach..

Oh bother!! I forget that I now need to use E-mail to log in instead of username AGAIN, AS USUAL!!! Stupid blogger!! AND U KNOW WHAT?!! IT TOOK ME MORE THAN 30 MINUTES TO REMEMBER MY STUPID PASSWORD!!! So I sent an email to google and got their reply and guess what?! I have to reset my password!! Grrr!!! Can u just delete da old blogger sign in option? Its gonna be redundant! Hah.. Haha
I've been bloggin so randomly....Busy busy busy and of course like I'd said, I forgot my password for this new google account for sign in to Blogger!! Didnt reset my password during those days coz too busy but since today I am not, HOORAY!! I CAN BLOG AGAIN after like err, 3 weeks?
So many things had happen lately.. Gonna tell u abt it one by one..
Was on MC on 27 Feb and 28 Feb. I hate it.. I couldnt believe I could be on MC. Guess, I cant be as strong as my mum. I tell u, when my mum was my age, she NEVER take MC.. She did fall sick BUT never will she take MC.. I have no idea why. She also remind me NOT to take UNNECESSARY MC. Well, da MC for 27 and 28 Feb wasnt unnecessary, heh.
Year 2007 MUST be pretty BAD year for da law firm I am presently working. Did somebody cast a spell or something? Teehee.. Another staff tendered on 2nd March. One of da secretaries for one of da lawyers. Usually when a secretary left, da management will promote one of da clerks to be a secretary but somehow it is different now. They hired a new staff and guess what? She too tender yesterday!! She joined on 5th March and since she has tendered yesterday, tentatively her last day would be 23rd March (Staffs who worked less than 3 months have to give 1 week notice) Many of da staffs asked her why she wanna leave that early.. Da only reason she mentioned, "I couldnt take da pressure." O_o

For da past few weeks, or days for that matter, I met a few Jin Tains.. Last week, I met Suguna.. Had a talk with her. She is back in SG for good.. She has graduated in August last year and came back in December last year. She is now working in Hotel Regency or Regent Hotel? Cant remember..
Then, a few days after that, I met Linda. She is now working in Thomson Medical Centre as a staff nurse. She was on her way home when I met her and da time was oh boy 9.30 or 9.45pm?!
SOMEONE in my present company told B, "MBS better stay in this company (da present company now) because she CANNOT survive with such working attitude in other company." When B told me that, I was already FUMING MAD OK!!! What working attitude does that person mean!!! I did ask B and he too said, "Da person neva tell me da reason."
