Today is da 6th Syawal. In da morning, I had mandarin lessons with my chinese teacher, Gin.. I am not trying to brag or boast but Gin conveyed 2me tat I am one of her best students.
I have got my Basic Level Conversational Certificate of Attendance frm CHINESE & ARTS EDUCATIONAL CENTRE. I am still continuing with Gin discreetly. Only me as she thinks tat I am her best students and she feels tat I have da potential to speak well and write well.
Yes.. Write. Gin has been teaching me how to write Chinese characters.. It looks pretty tedious at da start but slowly as I picked up da skills, it is not tat difficult at all! And u knw wat Gin told me?
"I am surprised u can also write very well. Maybe u r a chinese in ur last life." I looked at her in bewilderement. Last life? Oh, I get it. Da chinese belief in last life and next life. Hence tats y she said tat.

Alarmingly I STILL RECEIVE DUIT RAYA!!! LoL.. No kidding!! I really did receive still!!! My uncle's wife adhere to da Chinese custom >> Give 'to unmarried pple.. I am one of them!! *Grinz* Another of my aunt, she and her husband complied to their own tradition >> As long as u r schooling (be it part time, full time or watever), they will give u a packet.. *thumbs up*

I simply loathe assignments... They r totally dragging me down......Y cant I just go to uni (da sch, tat is..uni is far away in England) mark da attendance (though they are not compulsory at all), sit for exams and at da end of da day, get tat piece of darn paper. Geez, wishful thinking. I totally have no motivation in doing my assignments, especially when i am too worn out wif work load in Donaldson & Burkinshaw. HOW??!

I am saddened for da fact tat in da year 2007 there will be NO MORE JIN TAI SECONDARY SCHOOL !!!! Argh!!! It will merge with Ghim Moh Secondary and da new name is CLEMENTI WOODS SECONDARY SCHOOL. Wat a name!! Y dun da name b sumthing like WEST COAST PEAK SECONDARY ? Or WEST COAST GARDENS SECONDARY? Or CLEMENTI WEST SECONDARY ? Or CLEMENTI PARADISE SECONDARY or even CLEMENTI WEST GARDENS SECONDARY ? Those names are BETTER than Clementi Woods!!! Sigh

Today I took leave. Well, juz for one day. I have got my rest but later in da late aftnoon, we might go visiting again coz my poor younger sis has to go to sch!! LoL..
Meanwhile, enjoy viewing at da pics I took with my camera phone, Samsung X680 (I'm getting another one Nokia 6670 - 2nd hand but looks quite new coz da owner only use it twice and den kept in da package so might as well sell it to those who loves Nokia ph.. and tats me!! - to replace my darling Nokia 6170 hp which my idiotic younger bro lost it!!!)

I guess I am someone who can really hide how I feel. I have to constantly remind myself, tis is not da time to break into pieces. Tis is not da time to crumble into bits n start to sort out my mind to get ready for everything all over again. Just becoz, tis is not da time yet. But how much can we control our fate? Our mind? Our emotions? Sometimes I guess we cldn't control as much as we wanna control to be. Guess getting tired of everything n juz wan to run away frm reality is a part & parcel of life tat every single one will go through. I am no exception. But how long can one feel like this? I myself won't wan it to sustain for too long, becoz I knw it will hinder me in every work I do. But how much am I able to control how I feel? I am alrdy tat someone who can just cry readily when I feel like crying. I am alrdy tat someone who may just pour every single bits of problems I have in my mind when I am really very vexed. But I wish tat I am a someone who does not need to hide my emotions. Yes, I do complain, I do whine. But to a certain extent, I realise I am not being truthful enough to myself. How truthful can one be in front of ur friends n folks? I can be very truthful, but definitely not to how I feel. I guess dilemma exists in every situations. But how do I take control of it? Dun ask me now. My life seems to be in a mess. Call me a deep thinker. I dun care. But maybe I am really one. Something I shld really go and learn. Is to be truthful to how I feel.

Yestday, 14 Oct 2006 3pm rdshow cum Autograph signing session at Jurong Pt featuring Top 4 Idol finalists frm Season 1 and Season 2.. They are promoting their HypeUp Concert which is gonna be held on Oct 24, Tues (I cant go EVEN if i got free tickets.. C'mon lah.. Its first day of hari raya!!!) at Singapore Indoor Stadium, 8pm.
In case u may have forgotten who are da TOP 4 IDOL FINALIST SEASON 1 and SEASON 2, let me refresh ur memory..
SEASON 1:- DAPHNE, OLINDA, SLY (RUNNER UP), TAUFIK (WINNER!!)
SEASON 2:- PAUL, JASMINE, JONATHAN (runner up), HADY MIRZA!!!! (WINNER!!! HOORAY!!!!)
Da emcee for da rdshow is Daniel Ong.. I prefer him to Justin Ang for da fact tat Daniel Ong is my fav DJ frm Perfect 10 98.7FM..
First idol to be announced and went up on stage is Paul not One but Twohill..
Next, DAPHNE... followed by Jasmine, den Olinda.. More screams heard when Daniel Ong called out for JONATHAN!!!
Sly!!! (Simply so not interested to take a pic of him.. Hahahaha). More fans cried out even louder when Daniel Ong mentioned da names of TAUFIK and HADY at da same time!!!
OMG!!! Taufik and Hady look so bloody hot!!! I was like want to go to da stage and "hug" them.. Hahahaha.. But no.. I cant do tat.. Taufik and Hady are fasting.. Batal puasa mereka if I were to do tat.. Dosa tau.. Hahaha.. Huh? Wat abt me? Ohh.. Cuti.. Sshhh..

Da autograph session took abt 2 hrs.. While da idols are signing autographs, I called for Daniel Ong. He looked at me. I handed over to him a few stuffs.. Well, I bought gifts for "my Hady" *smile* I said to Daniel Ong, "Daniel, can u pls pass these gifts to Hady? Pls.." Daniel Ong is being very cooperative.. Indeed I saw him going over to where Hady was sitting and whispered to him something and gave da gifts to Hady!!! I saw it and I was almost wanting to scream!!!
Wat did I bought for him? Oh.. Sorry.. I cant tell u.. Wahahaha.. I forgot one thing though.. I forgot to attach "love note" ("surat cinta") to da gifts.. Sigh..
As usual.. Dira and I wished to wait at da EXIT. However.. situation was a bit diff frm Causeway Pt.. Previous rdshow at Causeway Pt, da security guards didnt even prevent da maniac fans securing da EXIT.. For tis time round at Jurong Pt.. we cant even go to da EXIT!!!
Dira had an idea.. We had to go for a long cut.. We went inside John Little Store. There is a back door at John Little.. We went to da back door and we headed off to da carpark. we waited there coz da idols will be coming frm da EXIT and entering da carpark. We saw 2 black vans next to each other. We bet those 2 vans muz be da transport for da idols.. Why need 2 vans? Well..One van for guys and other for da ladies..
Minutes later, I saw da idols!!! OMG!! They were very near to me; near as in can touch them but no, I dun wanna touch them (Taufik and Hady, nanti batal puasa mereka..So I juz stood there enduring da temptation of 'touching' them. Argh!!!)
One sad thing was.. Jonathan, Hady and Taufik didnt notice me waving at them!! and calling at them saying "hi"! Boo-hoo.. Da only idol who noticed me was SLY!?! And he greeted me with hi and a nod!!! And I was like, "Siapa kisah pasal dia!! Aku nak Hady and Taufik not him!!!" silently in my heart..

I did not knw how to start off for tis entry.. I felt very steamed.. Juz read da title of 2day's entry and u will understand y..
First, let me recite to da race issues.. I dun fathom y racial issues still exist in tis modern community.. We shld live in peace and harmony!!! Sigh..
As u knw Hady Mirza was crowned SINGAPORE IDOL on 25 Sept 2006.. He secured 70% of da votes!! Tat is more than Taufik who occupied only 62% in da previous season.. SINGAPORE IDOL maybe over.. BUT sum pple was unhappy with da fact tat malay won again..
A middle aged colleague of mine, (name/initial shall not mention to avoid any controversies) asked a colleague of mine, (BB) to inquire on how much I paid for my hp bill aft da votings. Honestly pple.. I had blogged b4 tat my hp bill for tis month only stated SI Voting till 14 Sept.. Da finals of da Spore Idol was on 24 and 25 Sept.. I presume da bill for SI Voting of 24 and 25 Sept will be for next month.. Hence, since I was quite close to BB too (she joined a mth earlier than me and she too cant endure da working environment i.e busybody colleagues), I told her da truth, "I havent got my latest hp bill yet."
When tat middle aged colleague of mine returned frm her usual toilet visit, she requested an ans frm BB. Of coz BB informed her my exact ans.
While on da way hm, in da MRT.. BB explained to me why all of a sudden da middle aged colleague wants her to question me abt my hp bill . . . . On 25 Sept, hours b4 da results show of Spore Idol, da middle aged colleague did mention to BB tat she wants Jonathan to win, he is a university undergrad, he has da stage presence and can sing even though no singing experience. Futhermore, da middle aged colleague said, if Hady won it will be unfair to Jonathan.. Hady has singing experience, he is a singer in a bar.. by right cant enter into da competition, besides he is only a Diploma holder.. (WAT?!!! HOW CLD SHE SAY TAT?!!!)
Singaporeans had voted and our new Singapore Idol is Hady Mirza!! She wasnt happy.. She also found out tat I voted alot of times for Hady tat leads him to victory, and she was very keen to knw how much is my hp bill tat I am willing to fork out .. HELLO!!! As if I AM DA ONLY ONE?!!! There are other fans of Hady who voted more than they can expect for Hady too!!! I dun think my votes for Hady is da highest among all Hady's fan.. I blog hopped and was electrified to read tis frm a blog entry, "I voted for Hady Mirza almost 100 times!!" I was like, "WAT?!! 100 times!! Wow!! Tat was abt 30 to 40 times more than me!"
Besides, if she wants Jonathan to win, she shld vote!!! Why didnt she? She told BB she didnt vote coz it is a waste of $$.. Den y da dejected feeling?! We want Hady to win, tats y we voted..we dun mind da $$.. it is OUR money, not any other pple's $$.
How I wished to say tis to her, "(so and so is her name), for ur info.. Chinese pple also vote for Hady!" Although I am a Hady Mirza supporter.. I have neva ONCE gave negative allegations abt Jonathan.. Watever for? Frm da start of idol competition.. I knw Jonathan has da voice and yes, Jonathan can sing.. he isnt like J (frm previous season) who cant really sings and also JK (frm tis season) who can dance BUT not sing.. *tongue lashing* so I dun have anything negative to say abt him.. unlike those 2 Js I'd juz mentioned!
Tat middle aged colleague of mine shld be ashamed of herself.. My grandma who is older than her thinks more sensible than her. I remembered my grandma saying tis (translated to English), "We shld support both Hady and Jonathan.. Both are good.. Whoever wins..doesnt matter.. both are equally good..Do not see race. See da talent" Those are da sentences tat came out frm my grandma's mouth.. How realistic, dun u think?
Second.. abt office politics.. which sumhows relate to da first one.. Yup.. da office politics I wanna share to u pple in my blog started with race issues, and in turn leads to office politics..
All my friends (even my family members) knw tat I do listen to mandarin songs.. I started listening to mandarin songs during my diploma time:- in da late year 2002 / early year 2003 NOT when I juz came to DONALDSON!!! So pls, B and J frm Donaldson of Accounts dept has nothing to do with it!!
So while doing my work, I played some songs in random frm da computer. Where I got da songs frm? I downloaded it at hm frm da internet and I have a thumb drive.. I copied and transferred da songs to my work computer..coz I am so used to having music played on while doing work.. Without music, my life kinda 'empty'.
Like I had juz mentioned.. da songs played were in random order.. Da minute it played a mandarin song, another going to be a middle aged colleague signal to tat middle aged colleague.. To them, they were whispering or talking very softly.. but I think they talked way too loud for me to hear (coz EA cant hear them, BB too didnt hear anything).
They were gossiping abt me!! If they wanna gossip abt me behind my back.. I wldnt mind coz tat was da style.. but they were having a malicious talk abt me when in actual fact I was there!!! because they mumbled in a language which I understand in tis case.. ENGLISH!!! Tat was y I mentioned earlier in tis entry tat I felt kinda infuriated!!! If they were to blabbermouth abt me without me knwing.. I wldnt be so pissed!!!
Wat I heard frm their pernicious conversation; da almost middle aged colleague, "How come she (me la!!) always play chinese songs.. she malay wat.. she understand or not da chinese song?" A reply frm tat middle aged colleague to her, "Ever since she went out KTV with Accounts pple (how da in da world she knws?!!!) she has been listening to chinese song.."
A displeasing reply frm da almost middle aged colleague, "She got went out with accounts pple?!" (Why? Any problem? Trade Mark dept cannot go out with Accounts dept? Is there such a rule? We ARE ALL HUMANS.. No diff in us..) She continued, "Tat means she now very close with them ah.. trying to eye for a position there la.." (Hey!! No such thing!! Watever for?! I knw nothing abt accounts.. I have Diploma in Computer NOT Diploma in Accounts!) I cldnt be bothered to confront them.. coz they r senior staff, they r same age as my mum and aunts and tis is da fasting month.. Wat i can only do is to endure..
Pple, if u r reading tis.. IS IT WRONG FOR A MALAY TO LISTEN TO CHINESSE SONG? IS IT SUM KIND OF A CRIME?!! Y r those skunkheads 'aunties' making a huge fuss abt it?!! Doesnt mean I am malay I have to listen to malay songs.. It is up to an individual!! NOBODY CAN SAY NO!! AMUSINGLY WEIRD!!
Sigh.. r ALL Law Firms having staff like them? Or only DONALDSON & BURKINSHAW have staffs like them? Hmm...

I have graduated with Diploma in Computer Studies in April 2003 frm a private institution specializing in computers in Singapore. Da institution is INFORMATICS COMPUTER SCHOOL. (a subsidiary of Informatics Group) I studied frm April 2002 to April 2003.
Since young, I have tis determination to study as high as I can. Hence.. I pursued for a part time degree frm THAMES BUSINESS SCHOOL (also a subsidiary of Informatics Group) I cant pursue da course full time due to financial difficulties. WA 307: International Marketing Strategy - just took da exam in Sept.. Hmm.. how do I fair? Results in mid November..
WA 309: DISSERTATION (Double credit) - Tis will determine my honour degree!!!

Tis integrates information frm different functional areas. Two types of dissertation tat are acceptable :- Organisation based and Research-based dissertations.)
//U muz be wondering where is module code WA 306 and WA 308 (Business to Business Marketing and Electronic Marketing respectively)? Well, for year 3 esp for Marketing track undergrads, u can choose 2 electives out of 4.. unlike Finance, HR and Management track, there arent any electives modules..
Actually I selected WA 308 (Electronic Marketing) and u knw wat? I have to attend da class as a full time student coz most of da full time students chose tat subject!! I cant due to work commitments.. unless I am looking for a job.. but I am not.. I am fully employed.. So I took WA 307 (International Marketing Strategy) instead becoz al marketing track students of part time chose tat..
P/S: All da above marks are not finalised.. It will be finalised aft I had done my dissertation. Professors frm University of Wales will assess our paper and da dissertation. Yestday was da 3rd time in 3 straight weeks, I hanged out with Dira.. First time was on 16 Sept, for da Spore Idol rdshow at both Plaza Singapura and Cineleisure. Second time, was last week (23 Sept) for da same event at Causeway Pt, with additional peeps we knw like Liza and Ayu and their friends..
Da third time was yestday!!! Well, there wasnt any rdshows of any singers or idols.. We juz wanna chill out.. Da plc: Jurong Point.. Meeting time: 1.30pm. Duration of chilling out: 3.25 hrs!!! Yup.. I kid u not!!! 3.25 hrs approximately 3 hrs and 15 mins!!
We went window shopping frm stores such as SaSa to Japan Home to This Fashion to Harvey Norman to BATA to PEDAL WORKS to Courts and John Little.. We talked abt gadgets such as thumb drives, SD card, MM card, digital cameras, wireless connection, laptops, desktops and handphones..while on we were window-shopping. Window shopping for shoes.. I need to buy a pair of shoes for Hari Raya!!! We went to different shoe shops. None of da shoes were appealing to me.. Nvm, still have 3 weeks to go.. No hurry..
Remember I blogged abt a taxi driver insisting tat I AM NOT A SINGAPOREAN but a FOREIGNER? Well, yestday it happened again!!! While on my way home frm Jurong Pt.. I was instructed by my grandma to buy food for break fasting..at Clementi, da coffee shop opposite NTUC.
I went to tis mama stall selling Briyani coz whole family wanna eat Briyani. They took my order in English.
And u knw wat happen next? While serving me, da assistant asked me, "Are u a Burmamese?" I said, "No. I am Malay." "Oh, malay. Can speak malay rite?" I nodded my head. Aft tat, he talked to me in malay.. Wat did he talk abt? "Saya fikir awak org Burma." (I thot u r Burmese). Tau ckp melayu, ckp melayu saja.. Kita faham." (Knw how to speak malay, juz speak.. We understand)
I was, "Like.. duh.. doesnt mean I'm malay muz speak in 100% malay.."
Crap!! Do I DUN LOOK SINGAPOREAN?!!! Even if I dun speak malay, they can assume I am Singaporean still, cant they?! Why da perception tat I am NOT Singaporean?
I juz dun understand it!! First and second, a taxi driver insisted I am Indonesian and a maid thot tat I was Indonesian, third.. sumone frm my diploma days approached me and speak to me in tagalog!!! When I stared at him, he asked, "r u a Filipino?" I told him off tat I am NOT a Filipino BUT a Singaporean!!! He apologized to me and went off.. Fourth, was juz recently.. during my first day of work at Donaldson & Burkinshaw on 17 March.. one of da malay staff came up to me to strike a conversation. Wanna knw wat she ask me?
"Maria, u ni org Malaysia eh?" (Maria, r u a Malaysian?") I gave her a frown.. I shocked my head and she understood, however, she didnt apologize 2me!! How rude.. Oh well, she is a senior staff and I am new so, I'll just give in..
Indonesian.. Filipino.. Malaysian.. new one Burmese.. I wonder wats next.. Bruneian? Pakistan? Bangladeshi? Thai?!! Crap!!!.
LoL.. My handphone bill!!! Just received my handphone bill on Thurs.. Total amt: $202.25 Out of da $202.25, $108.80 was for Spore Idol voting frm 23 August to 14 September.. (Top 6, Top 5, Top 4 and lastly Top 3) Of coz u shld knw who I always voted for.. HADY MIRZA!! I did some math and during 23 August to 14 September, I gave out 168 votes to Hady Mirza.. 23.08.06 to 14.09.06 = 4 weeks.. Each week, I voted for Hady Mirza 42 times!!! Wow!!! Die hard fan of him, huh? LoL.. Next month, my handphone bill will be more than $202.25 coz I VOTED FOR HADY MIRZA MORE THAN 6O TIMES, remember?
Watched Suria Segar juz now.. Aw.. My Hady is on TV again and he looks so pulchritudinous, captivating, charming, enthralling, da list goes on and on lah.. Hahaha.. Hmm.. his malay same as me.. not tat fluent...hahaha.. Another similarity between us. LoL..
Anyway during da interview at Suria Segar, he said thanks to those supporting him coming down to studios, rdshows and Indoor Stadium. He said thanks to 'me'.. Coz I was at 2 rdshows!!! Thanks Hady!!! *winkz*
