Customer Service or Sales & Marketing??
While working as a TM (Telemarketer) temp at the current co, of course I have been searching for jobs - preferably full time & permanent, related to my degree.
Alhamdullilah.. Allah answered my prayers. There are 5 companies offered me but I turned down 2 of them and would gladly accepted the other 2.
For the 2 companies that I turned down, they are dealing with the same thing. They are an outsource companies for banks in Singapore. What they do? Well, just do selling on the phone. Selling bank products over the phone. Yes, I am comfortable with doing selling over the phone - I dun get to meet customers - and I know this comes with basic + commission.
My expected salary is $1800. However, it is impossible to get that as basic if I want to embark in sales career. The one in Henderson Road offered a basic salary of $1200 with $200 attendance bonus (in a month, must have 90% attendance) + commission (ranging from $500 & above). I do not mind taking it but if in the 1st and 2nd month, I didnt get to sell... I will get $1400! Too low!
The one in Aljunied is more pathetic. The Managers are malay, but the director is Chinese. The staffs are mostly malays... Hah.. Expected already.. malays they dun even mind the low salary as long as they got work. How much are they offering? A pathetic $800! YES... A BASIC OF $800 coz they gave very high commission. The commission ranges from $120 to $2000. If I am very confident that I can get extra commission of $2000 on top of my $800 basic, gives a total of $2800, I dun mind taking it. However, I turned it down due to same reason... if 1 or 2 months working there I can't get sales... $800 is NOT enuff for me to put food on the table...
The next offer which I decline is not doing sales... but doing telemarketing. Full time telemarketing and the commission is high.. Yes... very high. But pay is very low. The co can afford to buy expensive things as FREE GIFTS to the customers (the telemarketers has to cold-call customers to invite them to attend event, if they attend.. there will be free gifts) but very lokek to give high salary! The place is located at Selegie Road. Basic salary is $500! Mak ai! Semakin lower and lower seh... What about commission? I dun really understand how the commssion works but we can easily get $2500 to $3000, together with our basic. Patutlah ramai Filipinos in the co... $500 is already a big amount for them.
Will continue later for the 2 job offers that I accepted. Yes, I accepted both but we have to work for 1. Will tell u more and try to guess which 1 I will be taking...
