Kinda hard to find another job. Not because of the bilingual in English and Mandarin but maybe because of my expected salary..
As all of you know, I draw a salary of $1650. If I want to find some other jobs out there with more benefits, it is rather impossible for the HR dept to offer me any salary higher than $1650 because its rather too "steep" for them.
BUT I CANT STAY IN DONALDSON FOREVER despite having that kind of salary. Yes, I can wait till I have graduated and gotten myself that piece of paper with my name written on it. However, the wait is sooo loooonnngg... I may not know of what is going to happen next? Definitely more backstabbing.. What about those same pple who still trying their ways to sabotage my rice bowl? It could be anything worse!
U know something... I have planned that if I cant get another job within this time, I dun mind to endure for a few more months in Donaldson. After I've gotten the degree, I will straightaway apply to MOE. (Ministry of Education). Why? My ambition is to be a teacher and I will not give that up. I will keep trying to apply to be a teacher. Be it a private teacher, tution teacher kindergarten teacher or primary teacher (secondary teacher - I have no confidence.), it wont matter as long as the designation: TEACHER.
I was thinking if I am an employee of MOE, to apply as a teacher in NIE (National Institute of Education) will be a slight advantage for me. I know.. there's this question: "What if, even as an employee of MOE, u cant get to be a teacher?"
My answer: "I can ask them to sponsor me teaching courses." There are a few private institutions specialising in teaching approved by MOE. I can sign up for the course and get MOE to sponsor for me. Yes, I know. I have to sign bond with them before I can get to be a teacher after graduating from that course. So? I dun mind.. Coz MOE is a govenrnment board. Kerja government per. Hehehe..
But as for now, I will try and try to find other jobs out there. One particular colleague of mine suggest this, "Gi write in to Rodyk ah. Mana tau dpt.." Hmm... Apply at Rodyk eh? *thinking* BOLEH JUGAK ah.. *winkz*
For now, I will apply to MOE and any other job vacant advertised in the Straits Times Classified, jobstreets.com.sg or jobsdb.com.sg. I know, there are chances that I am not a sucessful applicant. Still, whichever company calls me first for an interview or whichever company gives me a satisfactory offer, then I'll take it.. *Smilez*
Today's THE NEW PAPER, an advertisement on page 13 strucked me. WORK & STUDY UK CAREER ADVANCEMENT PROGRAM (Full Time / Part Time) EXECUTIVE TRAINEE PROGRAM. Hmm, the special benefits sounds interesting to me, "98% applicants get a high paying job instantly, Option to work in UK for one year (excuse me! I prefer if it is Australia!), Work in exciting places - 5 star hotels, country club, banks, airport, resorts, etc, fast career advancement to Managerial position, guranteed monthly gross salary at least $2200 - U can earn up to $3000 monthly, no prior experience required."
Indeed the above advertisement awed me. I believe this is more to hospitality. I prefer if it is more towards teaching courses... :) I did went for the FREE SEMINAR a month ago on MASTERS OF TEFSOL (Teaching English For Students of Other Languages) and Creative Teaching. The course fee is CHEAPER than my UK BSc (Hons)! I paid $25200 for my BSc Degree. If I would be interested for that course, the course fee is only $12500! Exactly HALF than my BSc Degree! Oh Man! How come I only noticed the above advertisement by Harriet Business School only recently?! and not 3 years ago! I would definitely took that course up! I always wanna be a teacher!
So, I think... I will write in to MOE and be an employee of MOE. Should I am sucessful, after working in MOE for a few months, maybe I can sound to the management of MOE to sponsor me that course? *GREAT IDEA, MARIA!* On second thoughts, my application may be 50% sucessful if I applied now because MOE is a government sector and my Diploma is from a private institute. My application may be of 75% sucessful if I applied after obtaining my BSc Degree because University of Wales from United Kingdom, which is a recognizable institute. Hmm... *Made up ur mind fast, gal!*
Remember my entry dated 23 August 2007? In today's THE NEW PAPER, page 21, there was this news...
"SCAMS: 122 VICTIMS LOSE $1.5M
Singaporeans have lost more than $1.5M to overseas lottery cheats, and almost 300 reports have been made about this since the beginning of this year, the police said.
Among the 122 victims, one of them parted with S$353,000. (wOW! That victim must be really rich and must be insisting that the 'lottery' is GENUINE to part with a six figure amount!)
Typically, they received calls or SMSes (nope, mine was INTERNET EMAILS!) claiming they are from overseas companies, saying they had won cash prizes. To claim their prizes, the victims were asked to pay taxes or fees through remittance companies to China (Mine was UK).
Once the payment was made, the fraudsters would become uncontactable, or cook up other stories to make the victims pay more. Police said they are working with overseas agencies to pursue the culprits (The I.O informed me that chances of getting my money is VERY VERY VERY SLIM, but they'll try their very best. Nah, its OK.. I will just have to give more $$ to my grandmother and mother from now. For this month (September), sampai tak bayar bill internet and bill hp coz I have no more money left after giving my grandmother and mother more $$. I felt guilty. That's all I can do to repay them. Biar aku susah.. jgn mereka yg susah. Ingat tak pepatah melayu: Susah payah sekarang senang kemudian? Did I phrase it right? Hehe.. -My Malay very koyak ah.. So, yeah sekarang biar aku susah.. moga-mogahan di masa yg akan dtg, aku akan senang.. InsyaAllah. Amin.)
They advised the public to be wary as such scams often take different forms and the fraudsters change tactics regularly. The police further stated that legitimate lottery companies do not ask for up-front payments before the release of winnings."
