"MBS, I tak pernah nampak u pakai jeans.. Pakailah jeans.. I nak tgk.."
APA NI? CLOTHING ALSO THEY JAGA ISSIT?! MY BLOODY BUSINESS LAH WHAT I WANT TO WEAR! DO I NEED THEIR PERMISSION?!! THEY DUN HAVE TO TELL ME! SO WHAT IF THEY HAVE NEVA SEEN ME IN A JEANS? I do wear jeans but not always.. once in a blue moon.. coz I dun really like jeans.. I prefer long skirts.. and trousers :D
When I answered, "Tgk working environment dia ah... Kat sini, i dun think it is sesuai for me to wear jeans." I shouldnt have said that. Coz, I was told this, "Sini every Friday ramai org pakai jeans.. except the makciks2 ah.. of coz lah they dah kahwin bertudung.." *eyes rolling*
"Kalau I nak pakai jeans pun I wont wear on Friday. Friday kan org lelaki gi sembahyang jumaat.... " Before I can continue... "So, what has that got to do with us..?"
"Ialah.. Kena hormat ah.. I tak suka berbaju kurung.. Tetapi paksa juga pakai baju kurung bila pergi ke majlis perkahwinan, melawat org meninggal dan berhari raya. My nenek kalau boleh nak I berbaju kurung on Friday untuk hormat org2 lelaki yg pergi sembahyang. But I tak mau.. I tak suka. Tapi because of my grandmother, every Friday, I pakai blouse and long skirt.. My grandmother kata manis dipandang org.."
"MBS.. kau ni kelakar ah.. Org kalau boleh suka pakai jeans on Friday coz esok dah tak kerja.. u terbalik pula.. Kalau on Friday u pakai skirt panjang.. Then hari lain, I tak pernah nampak u pakai jeans?" *slaps forehead* I have nothing to tell her. I just kept quiet... No further comments.
THEY REALLY LIKE TO JAGA TEPI KAIN ORG.. WHAT U WEAR OR WHAT U DUN WEAR.. THEY COMMENT.. AND THE MOST SHOCKING THING IS... APA KAU MAKAN PUN THEY NAK JAGA!!!?!!!
I recalled that I was having mee rebus for lunch. I didnt eat out. I bought and took it to office and eat. One peon was on duty. He saw me eat.. Thats OK, I guess.. Before I continue.. I wanna share with you something. Whenever I ate lontong, mee siam or mee rebus, that comes with an egg.. I didnt eat the yellow part of the egg.. I ate only the outer part and left the yellow part of the egg uneaten.. So the peon on duty saw that I didnt even touch the egg yolk hence he probed, "Asal tak makan kuning telur?" DUN HE KNOW THAT I WAS EATING.. I AM TRYING TO CONCENTRATE WHEN I AM EATING... SO I JUST SHOCKED MY HEAD...HE SHOULD UNDERSTAND THAT IT IS A NO. I CANT ANSWER NO TO HIM BECAUSE MY MOUTH IS FILLED WITH THE MEE REBUS!
HE EXPECT ME TO ANSWER HIM!!! BECAUSE HE STOOD THERE! MAKE ME LOST MY APPETITE! FINE! I ANSWER HIM. "Memang tak makan." Thats what I answer! Then, how do u expect me to answeR?! I cant answer "I dun like to eat." If I were to answer that, he will say, "Its good to eat what blah blah blah..."
I THOUGHT HE WONT BOTHER ME! WHEN I ANSWERED, "I DUN EAT." HE ASKED FURTHER, "Mesti ada sebabnya knp tak makan." *JAWS WIDE OPEN* *slaps forehead* HUH? HE EXPECTS ME TO TELL HIM THE REASON WHY I DUN EAT THE YOLK? OH C'MON LAH.. GIVE ME A BREAK! PASAL TAK MAKAN KUNING TELUR PUN NAK TAU KNP KE?! MAK AND NENEK AKU TAKDE PUN AMBIL PERDULI AKU MAKAN KUNING TELUR KE TAK... Sighz..
I was thinking of an answer. Expected.. He stood there waiting.. I have come up with an answer. I hope he will be satisfied.. "Tak ada apa-apa sebab. Mmg saya tak makan." HE NEVA GIVE UP! HE STILL INSTIGATE ME! C'MON LAH I HAVENT FINISH MY MEE REBUS OK... "mana mungkin.. mesti ada sebab nye knp awak tak makan kuning telur tu." I HAVE NO CHOICE AND OUT OF PATIENCE, I MERELY RAISED MY VOICE AND ANSWER, "TAK TAU LAH APA SEBAB! KALAU TAK MAKAN TU TAK MAKAN LAH.." Then, he get out from there. I know I was a bit rude but I just sumhow cannot answer that lame question... Mmg aku tak makan kuning telur tu.. dari kecil lagi.. Pernah try makan sekali..tapi tetap tak suka and tak akan makan..
SICKENING... I HOPE GOD ONE DAY WILL ANSWER MY PRAYERS.. CONFIRM ME WITH ANOTHER JOB AND I CAN GET OUTTA THERE FAST!!!
*********************************************************************
On Friday, 28th Sept.. I had a job interview. HUH? At Rodyk?! NO... not so fast.. (I havent even write in to Rodyk yet) ehehe.. At a law firm.. A German based law firm. I forgot the long name of the firm.. too mouthful pronounce but the abbreviation: VJP LLC located at IOI Plaza, Middle Road. At first I thought it was quite near to Bugis MRT.. I looked at the map (via website), what a LOOONNGGG WALK from Bugis MRT station to IOI Plaza! Then I remembered! IOI Plaza is at Middle Road and Middle Road is near Selegie Road, so isnt Dhoby Ghout MRT, the nearest mrt station?
BINGO! I was right! I looked at the map (via website) and it is just next to SIC (School of Institue of Commerce) . SIC is quite near to Peace Centre. Peace Centre is next to Park Lane (where I used to play pool with my Diploma friends there! *smilez*) and Park Lane is next to Paradiz Centre (there was once an Informatics branch there - I went to Paradiz Centre branch for one of my subjects... during my Diploma days). But all these places are quite a distance away from the MRT station but at least better than from Bugis MRT.
On Thursday, during lunch time, I went to take a trip to Bugis MRT to familiarize myself with the journey so I wont like terkial-kial. It took me 20 mins and I cant find the building, IOI Plaza at all! Lukcy the interview was scheduled at 6pm on Friday. So, I went back to office(dun even have the time to window shop at bugis junction - time constraint!).
On Friday, during lunch time, I went to take a trip there again, this time alight at Dhoby Ghout MRT station. I walked towards the exit which brings me to Paradiz Centre. Walked all the way straight till I saw a bus stop in front of Peace Centre. Then, I saw the building: IOI Plaza! I smiled to myself and headed back on to office.
Nis, thanks for approaching me at the mrt station control. Sorry, I didnt notice you. So now u know what I was doing there. :D
After work, I went there again. As I was walking passed by Standard Chartered Bank at Peace Centre, I saw another familiar face.. SHIRIN! I remember! She is working at Standard Chartered and she just been transfered to sumwhere at Selegie branch..I believe Peace Centre might be the selegie branch.. Hehe..
The interview went well. A major difference, I can say. Here in Donaldson.. I am doing trade marks (reporting gazettes). I wanted a change and even though I can tell the management that I have graduated with degree (which will be early next year), I dun think they can offer me any job position higher than my position now. I am sure of that. So I look around for better offers out there.
Guess what was the position VJP LLC was looking for? PATENT SECRETARY.. Hahaha.. Yes. My knowledge in patent? I can only say this: Patent is an invention of something. Thats all I know about patents. When the interviewer was curious as to why I want to do apply for the vacancy of Patent Secretary when I am not doing any patent work at Donaldson. I told her, "Patents to me is interesting and it will definitely be challenging for me to to work on it as patents are an invention of something. Invention is something that interest me thats why I am interested to move from trade marks to patents."
Hey... this is not exaggerating OK! I answer from the bottom of my heart! Then come the question: "Since you are interested in patents, did u talk to the management about it?" Opsie! I wasnt expecting that. Still, I am able to answer it, "I did talk to the management (yeah rite!) and unfortunately they cannot offer me any patent position because they prefer experience staffs to do patents.. "
She nodded. "Then what about other aspects of Trade marks? U stated here in ur CV that you only did Trade marks gazettes, which I admit can be pretty boring, so did u ask the management if they can offer you any area of work for Trade marks?"
"The same. I approached them (yeah rite!) and they told me that they can offer me other areas of trade marks only if a particular girl engaging in any particular area of trade marks resigns from Donaldson. "
She noted that n her notes. "Ok. As u know I am conducting the interviews. So, if you're shortlisted by me, I'll call you again for the second phase of interview, this time with the partners and the lawyer who you are going to work with." I smiled and nodded. "Sure."
Hmm..so what the chances? Hmm.. 60-40. 60% I am shortlisted for the 2nd phase of interview. *Cedebah confident seh*
Wish me all the best aite, readers. =)
